The end of 2025 is near. In five days, I fly to Texas. I’m spending a bit over a week over there. Too much time. But I don’t have anything to do in Tijuana, and those were the cheapest flights.
I had an awesome tour with Polish guys yesterday. It wasn’t a tour, more like a fixer gig. I need to advertise my tours like a fixer. I used to do it more often several years ago. Many years ago…
It was seven years ago that I took two Irish reporters to see the Trump border prototypes. None of the prototypes worked. We saw the end of the wall in the neighborhood of Nido de las Aguilas.
Seven years later… that area is different. More populated. And the wall got extended.
Tijuana is fucked up.
The world is fucked up.
And Poland, once a poor nation, is now a rich nation. From what they tell me.
The Polish guys were famous. Well… one of them. Big YouTuber with 1 million followers. It’s not the first time I’ve dealt with famous people. I’ve dealt with them for years.
They were both great. His friend/assistant reminded me of a lot of my friends. We got along well.
I have to do a video of it soon. Wojtek and Lukasz in Tijuana.
Here is a picture:

I forgot to ask to get a proper picture with them. This is a selfie I took near the border (with an iPhone X… imagine how good this would look with a new phone). However, I did take a lot of video. Too much video. Editing is going to take a while, but it will be worth it.
I have one more tour this Saturday. I have a Christmas photoshoot on Friday. I have a presentation of the new jersey for Xolos tomorrow… then I’m out.
Oh.
And I have a lot of social media work to do for the restaurants. I can do that with my iPad anywhere with WiFi. That’s the nice thing about the job. I have pictures. I have videos. I am set.
I need more gear.
Need need need. Want want want.
It’s Christmas time.
I like Christmas music. Hence, I like Christmas. It started at the supermarket. They had nice jazzy Christmas on for a good change instead of shitty pop.
I typed ‘Jazz Christmas’ on Spotify, and it’s a great playlist. It’s been on for the past two weeks.
Spotify says my artist of the year was Niko B. But that was more last year…
I’m sure the song I heard the most this year was Spicy Queen by Hanabie.
Bands that I listened to a lot this year: Hanabie, Broken by The Scream, Baby Metal, Niko B, and the classics I always listen to. Jazz, classical guitar, and math rock.
It’s Wednesday. Blogging every Monday turned out not to be possible when you get very busy. I blog when I can. And that will be next year’s blog.
I’ll be working on my books… starting with Tijuana Adventure 2. Prints of Baja and Tijuana photo book. And the Reader’s Best Stories book.
Next year I’ll release three books. That’s the target.
While working as a social media guy, tour guide, freelance photographer, writer, and more.
It seems like it will be another year of Tijuana. Perhaps, finally, the last one. Unsure. We will see how life lifes.
I had a busy week. Yesterday was the tour with the Poles. On Monday, I crossed the border to pick up stuff my girlfriend ordered. It turns out she needed to be with her ID. They didn’t give me her stuff.
I took the opportunity to do some Christmas shopping. I didn’t buy anything (or did I?).
It felt like a waste of a Monday. And later in the afternoon, my brother dropped off his kids for a couple of hours with me. We played video games, ate all the popcorn, and ate Maruchan instant noodles. I like hanging out with the kids. Though I feel like I have to clean forever after they are gone. I’m not done cleaning.
Always cleaning.
Sunday was the NFL. I’m in the toilet bowl. My team did alright. My opponent had the best game of the season. This Sunday is the toilet bowl… if I lose… my team changes names to whatever the winner wants. If I win, I’m changing the name to whatever I want. Then hung out with my girlfriend and her bro.
Saturday, I crossed the border to take pictures of the restaurants. I think I did well. But I always want more. I still have to edit the pictures of the second restaurant. They wanted inside shots. But I did them at night. So I did a bunch of long exposure shots. They will work for something. The website or posts.
I need to go back again… but I don’t have time. And I know I have enough pictures and videos to keep posting until next year.
It was a long Saturday. Crossed the border around 2:30 pm and came back around 10:30 pm.
Friday was girlfriend day. But curveball. I got invited to a podcast, and I agreed last minute. It was only supposed to be fifteen minutes, but it went long. I am invited to the podcast again, a couple of days after the new year.
Thursday and Wednesday were office days and internet time. Writing this blog. Editing stuff. Posting more stuff.
That’s today and tomorrow as well. Except tomorrow, I have an event in the afternoon.
That’s it for this blog. I need to edit pictures. I need to create a video. I need to post for the restaurants. And the year is done.
2025 went fast. And you can go back to read it all. Week by week of my 2025 life. This is the last year I do such a thing. I need to concentrate on less word vomit and more good content. Revive the Tijuana Newsletter and keep going with the books.
Expect more of that next year. Tijuana Newsletter in my Substack. More Patreon stuff. And WAY more content on all my social media.
Thanks for reading.
