Week 46 (2025) – New Adult Bed – More Photography Gigs and a Dutch Tour – Cold Laundry Days

It was a busy week.

Social media gig keeps me busy for a couple of days a week. It should be fewer hours. But I don’t complain. It’s okay money and I get to eat for free. And I’m back in the photography game.

I need more photo gigs.

The circle of photography. Do it a lot. Get burnt out and stop doing it. Get into it again. Desire new gear.

Videos need work. I still don’t enjoy video. But everything is video nowadays. Or a video of the photography. I already programmed the photos for the week. I need to do the videos. It’s a bitch. And the files are huge.

My photos were in a print magazine for the first time in a year or so. My last print was with the Reader in what feels forever ago. The Reader is struggling. They are asking for money. I want to do a video of my 10 years with the Reader.

So many cover stories.

So many stories.

So many stories…

I wanted to do a book about that. My best stories with the Reader. Longer and unedited.

More books.

Some things never materialized. The hotel that supposedly was going to buy 9 of my prints never happened. I could have them done by now.

I sold some shirts.

I did a tour.

I crossed the border for a photoshoot, and I forgot the extra batteries for my camera, so I only ended up doing one photoshoot instead of two.

That’s fine. I have plenty of material still.

I need to create the videos. And I need to do laundry. And like always… clean, clean, clean the apartment. Feed the cats. Clean the litter.

And this time more cleaning… because I will have a visitor staying over.

My oldest brother will be staying in Tijuana for a few days. The photographer who took that picture of Britney, Paris, and Lindsay in the car.

That dude. It will be an interesting and yet again busy week. I don’t have a tour, but the one I did paid double, which is nice. And it was a fun tour. The first tour with Dutch people. It was a classic tour with breweries, art, history, and more Tijuana stuff. The Dutch guys were great. Smart folk in important business. Another nice thing about the tours, I make contacts with people from around the world, and they enjoy my tours.

Oh.

And I built the bed.

After almost my whole entire adult life with the mattress on the floor (on top of a box spring or another mattress many times), I finally have a bedframe. And I must say… I think I sleep better. I definitely like it. I was worried I wouldn’t. Why wouldn’t I!?

Because they tend to creak? Because I feel like I’m going to break them!?

But no.

It’s nice. Good job, Ikea. Good job.

And thanks to my friends who hooked me up with it.

I was going to post a picture of the bed… but it felt too personal. Here is a selfie of me carrying a bundle of sticks. Also known as a faggot. Don’t take that in the modern interpretation of it. The old way.

The first night I built the bed, I didn’t have those sticks. I placed the mattress on top and risked it without it. It was a mistake. I almost broke the frame.

The sticks make a huge difference.

The bed is great.

I always say I’m going to move, then I get a bed, then it feels more like a home. I even have a TV in my room now…

How many more years in this apartment… for fucks sake… how many more years.

Hah!

WTF?!

The laundromat near my house is closed. And it has been closed for a while. I guess I haven’t gone back in many years…

I did a couple of photo shoots there. It had a nice setting for photos. My photoshoots weren’t that great, but they had some nice results. Now that the laundromat is gone.

And my washing machine is no longer working correctly. The barrel doesn’t spin. I saw multiple YouTube videos on how to fix it. The guy in the video says it’s an easy fix and then goes on to do shit that doesn’t look easy, like replacing a piece on the motor.

That’s what I have to do.

There are two other laundromats near me. Both on the street that I do not walk on. One seems ghetto but cheap. The other is nice, but it’s further out.

Yay. Laundry talk. Or make a ton of money and buy a new washer/dryer. And move from this god forsaken city.

As of now… I’m doing laundry in a broken machine. I have to squeeze my clothes by hand to get the excess water out and hang them out to dry. Soon I’ll visit the new laundromats or fix my washer. I don’t have much of a choice.

Monday felt like a Sunday since I worked on a Sunday, like it was a Saturday.

It sucked. Tuesday sucked as well. Things are not going right.

But it wasn’t a bad week. I kept busy. I have money. I need way more money.

It’s cold out. It’s only going to get colder. It’s been shitty and raining, and my apartment is freezing. It’s a gigantic concrete block that absorbs the weather. Sometimes it’s colder inside my apartment than outside. I do not enjoy the winter in Tijuana or an apartment like this.

The only thing to do is grow. Because I deserve better. People keep liking my shit. I keep getting recognized. Everyone says that I’m going to do so well. Yet I’m still here…

More things are coming on my Patreon.

I have a list of things, and I enjoy crossing them out. I have to write three books.

Two of them before 2026 truly begins. Print book. Reader’s Best Stories Book. And with time… the Tijuana Adventure book 2.

My followers are growing in all media. Sometimes fast. Sometimes slow. But it is steadily growing. And people watch old videos. A mountain of content will finally pay up. And I need to keep adding to the mountain of content.

Thanks for reading.
