It’s rainy and shitty again. It seems to be like that every time I write. The street still smells like shit. I wonder if Tijuana will ever fix it. A river of sewer water is running four floors beneath me. My downstairs neighbor has it worse. The people that live near street level… Yeah. The smell is toxic. It in the US, I would be able to sue the city. The water is hazardous and probably causing me some sort of disease that will show up later in life. Breathing in sewer water can’t be good for you.
Tititijuana.
I finally went to Ensenada. But I didn’t go where I wanted to go. I went to Valle de Guadalupe to photograph the baby shower of the best friend of my ex-girlfriend of eight years ago. She is married and obviously pregnant. Hence the baby shower.
I did a baby shower photoshoot a couple of years ago. My last photoshoot was that Primos event. I still go it.
1,216 photos reduced to 485 edited photos.
I still shoot a shit ton.
More than 200 photos of the main subject. The pregnant subject. Then a lot of photos. The cat. The food. The dog. The niece. The nephews. The hugs. The parents. The saxophone player. The views.
The food. The food.
This post needs a picture and it will be a food picture. I like food photography. And the food was really good. Obrigado Doida e parabéns!

Picanha by the husband. Lower quality picture because low space in the blog. I don’t know if I want to pay for the update or delete a lot of the old pictures. I like high quality pics and it bothers me that I can’t upload full quality.
Pulpo a la Gallega. Maracuya mousse. Snacks. Fancy ceviche. Sangria. Maracuya margaritas. I took pictures. I ate. I drank. I chatted and made new clients. I got paid. I did the photoshoot for cheap. But worth it.
The edit though… that took forever. I need to shoot less. Or make more money.
It’s Thursday today. I’ve been missing the Mondays and my blog posts got pushed back. But I’m still managing one a week and I will for the rest of the year. It’s been raining for the last two days and it’s supposed to rain until tomorrow.
It rained on Tuesday. I had a tour on Tuesday. I wasn’t sure what to make of the tour. The client switched days several times on me. The point of the tour also changed quite a bit. From a regular tour. To a business consultant tour. To what it ended up being like. Just meeting a dude from Las Vegas with money that wants inside information and wants to keep me as a contact in Tijuana. He brought his dad. His dad was skeptical about it because he said he was from Tijuana and knew everything. By the second beer I had won him over. I know my history. I know what this city looked like in the 90s even though I wasn’t here. I can picture what it was in the 20s. I’ve been Tijuana obsessed for so long.
Tijuana Adventure book #2 will come soon. And it will have more relevant information.
Like this blog. It should be more relevant information instead of my diary. It will turn to that. I just have to decide what.
Beer is not a major topic anymore. Breweries are slowly dying and with that, the writing of it. There’s not much interesting things going on in the industry. Even though the Ensenada Beer Fest is in two weeks…
I ended up doing nothing. Too short notice and too disorganized and I must remember, I hate doing large events. They are a fucking headache. Second year in a row that I think about doing something to remember what a bitch it is to organize a large group of people to get drunk and lost in Ensenada.
It could have been money. But it’s alright. I have a few more tours this month and I can get more gigs.
I still dream of opening the Tijuana Adventure shop. That should happen. I want that to happen.
I’ve been listening to Brazilian music a lot. I’ve always listened to some. I went to Brazil for New Years and Natal in 2000-2001. Crazy experience. I want to go back. Brazil was amazing back then.
Doida is Portuguese for crazy. That was her nickname my ex gave her. That’s why I called her that. Sacanagem!
Tour Saturday I didn’t get paid but did. What I mean is that I got paid in weeks in advance. So it felt like I work for free though I know I got paid. I like it better when they pay half and then the rest during the tour, right before, or after. And tips are nice. People are tipping less and I understand, every thing is expensive and so am I.
Let’s see what the future holds.
Tours in video format:
Brittaney’s birthday tour was hella fun. Partying with locals and get paid for it. It sounds easy, but like always, I must remind you that it is not. I know my shit. How to entertain. And keep the tour moving. If it wasn’t for me, they would have stayed in one or two bars the whole night and wouldn’t see the new stuff. And the stories. And the rest. Brittaney’s party was fun.
Tour 2 on a rainy day:
This was more of a business get to know Tijuana tour. The inside information tour. Miguel is new to the city, his dad said he knew it all. He knows all the 90s stuff for sure, but not Tijuana 2025.
And what comes next.
Fucking Tijuana is crazy. And I’m still here. I have a tour this Friday with a friend and his wife and friends. They are somewhat locals. They live in a small city five hours or so from here. And now that I think about it…
It’s snowing by the mountains and they have to cross that in their car to reach here. I have to text him to confirm it’s happening. They already reserved the hotel. It’s supposed to rain until Saturday. Let’s see what happens.
I’m going to try to cook fish and shrimp tacos today. Let’s see what happens.
Life keeps lifing.
I still try to find more gigs because I want more money. More tours are happening. More opportunities keep opening up. I need to stay busy. Every thing will be alright.

Chimba seems better. She didn’t puke for a whole week. Then she puked three times in one day. She’s been normal. But dry heaves late at night and in the morning. No puke. That happened the last two nights. Googling it. It’s not good.
I should try to take her to the vet right now!
