Week 8 (2025) – Tijuana Party Tours and Deep Tissue Massage – Ensenada Beer Fest Package Tour!

It’s the end of February 2025. End of the short month that felt kind of long. Not that many tours but the month got rescued by a couple of tours by the end. I don’t have a tour this weekend. I got an email yesterday asking for a tour for today (very short noticed). I said I could. I didn’t get a reply.

I’m still charging $200.

“And you are worth every penny!” said my client on Saturday (drunkenly). I ended up paying the tab at the last bar because one of my client’s cards wasn’t working properly. They said they were going to Venmo me later. They didn’t. They were pretty drunk that they barely remember the last bar.

It was a fun wild night with a lot of mixed drinks. Curveball for me. No beer. I did a tour and I learned. Ilusso makes great cocktails and they were impressed. Besides that, not much to show off. Public House was a bit overpriced for basic mixology and Republica de Hops tried really hard only to fail.

“I hate Frangelico” said the birthday girl as she was served an espresso martini with Frangelico.

Here’s the tour in video format:

Not everything makes it to the video.

We went to Billares el Travieso. As we were walking in, a cockroach was by the entrance and a cat was chasing it around. They asked for pool and cats. This place has pool and cats. But also, a fucking dive of dives. No alcohol. Only beer. That’s why we said we didn’t stay. But it was the cockroach.

I love el Travieso. It’s like old Tj.

I miss old Tj.

Craft beer is dwindling. Dive bars and cocktails are making a comeback.

The tour before that was a repeated tour. Repeated clients + one new guy who married a Tj border girl. New guy loved the tour. Repeated clients did as well. I took them to similar places but ended up in the Windy City instead of the Chinese Restaurant. Harharhar code for strip clubs. I left them happy there and I went home at midnight. Then I had a tour the next morning.

This was that tour.

I love my clients. I’m grateful for what I do. Though I’m tired of doing it. Every tour I go… ooo here I go again! The tired of slug of Futurama. Slurms MacKenzie. That’s his name. I had to google it.

Thanks Jeebus for great clients.

My right arm has been killing me. I went for a deep tissue massage at a place that looks like it gives happy endings. It doesn’t. It was a great massage. But my right arm is still killing me. I’m doing more stretches and stuff. But it still aches. I don’t want to go to the doctor and get it checked up. I want the pain to go away. Let’s hope it does by March. That’s in two days.

This is the massage place.

God fuck do I hate people commenting. I know I’m at fault as well. I’ve done it. I’ve seen a video with million of views and like an idiot, I’m comment #716 like it matters. Ignoring comments is best. But people assume the weirdest shit.

I have to concentrate on the positive. But the negative is so fucking dumb it makes me want to yell at them. Fucking stupid people.

I’ve been cooking more.

My life is a little simulation like the Sims. My Sim (myself) just gained more points on cooking. I want to think I’m at around 6 out of 10. A pretty alright home chef. I made Étouffée yesterday. The roux wasn’t correct but the shrimp broth and the final product was. I added habaneros because I wanted to make it spicier. Both my friend and my girlfriend thought it was very spicy. I liked it like that. I can make it again and again.

The day before that I made Penne Rigate Arrabbiata with Chicken Sausages (with Gruyere and garlic). Sounds fancy as fuck. It wasn’t. Three ingredients I picked up at the grocery outlet. I sautéed the sausages with onions, butter, and a bit of oil. Cooked the pasta past al dente. Threw in the jar of Arrabbiata sauce (which wasn’t very spicy, it was basic).

The plan was to make hot dogs like Dog Haus. But my girlfriend didn’t want bread. I ended up mixing sausages in the pasta.

It turned out good.

Leftover still sits in the fridge. Next to leftovers of the Étouffée (god damn that’s hard to spell). There are mashed potatoes leftovers as well. They weren’t as creamy goodness like before, but easy fix. I’m going to reheat them with butter and cream to achieve a better consistency and cook some stove top rib eyes tonight.

Someone just asked for my Étouffée recipe. I copied it from several recipes from google. Just google it. But yeah. It was fun to make my own. I want to try new and more challenging dishes. I know I can do it. I work from home most of my week and I have time to pick up ingredients and do prep work and a nice home cooked meal.

I also need to go to the burger place that was going to pay me to a review. And the sushi place. And a burrito place. But I haven’t done it.

I did a video of me crossing the border. It didn’t do well.

March.

Here we go. March!

I have three booked tours so far. One already paid fully. The other paid deposit. The other is a friend and his family and I am doing it for a discount.

March rent is ready and will be paid soon.

The Ensenada Beer Fest is on March. Last time I ate mushrooms was at the Ensenada Beer Fest. What a crazy trip that was.

And then I fucking wrote about it for the San Diego Reader.

The organizer of the Beer Fest is a buddy of mine. I wrote for him for his beer magazine once. We’ve drank beers. We’ve chatted. He called me up.

$150 per person to get picked up at the border, entrance to the festival, one night stay in a hotel (two people per room), and dropped off at the border the following day.

It’s cheap as fuck. The idea is to charge $150 and have me as a host. 18 tickets for Tijuana Adventure takes to you the Ensenada Beer Fest. It will include a gift.

March 22nd.

You want in? Send me a message.

I might work on that. The next blog post will confirm it. It’s a lot of work. It’s potentially a lot of money. And a hella of a story.

A great beginning to Ensenada Adventure. I might go to Ensenada this weekend. Let’s see if that happens. If it does. More chances of the above thing happening as well.

I keep wanting to work on the Ensenada Adventure then I just stay in Tijuana.

I crossed the border on Monday to send a shirt and a couple of posters. It was a very long walk. The post office is fucking far. But mission accomplished. And on the way back I stopped by Grocery Outlet (and cooked the above meals). I also got beer. West Coast IPAs. One by Rouleur and the other by Harland. I was disappointed by both. They are both top notch breweries. Not sure what happened.

Maybe because I got them at Grocery fucking Outlet.

This blog post needs a picture.

I haven’t taken any pictures since Valentine’s. Just videos. Of everything. Like the paragraph above. I did that in video format. Here it is.

The only comment is a dick about it. I could have just ignored. But I commented more.

Still… over 500k interactions in my videos for the past month or so. Probably more. 260k in one Insta, 180k on the other insta, another 120k or so on TikTok then a trickle on YouTube and Facebook. Yes. Around 500k. Some months way more. Some months less, but not much less. 500k is around my average reach on my stupid videos. Enough to get paid? Yeah… sorta. It will only grow. So hopefully get paid more soon.

My girlfriend told me she’s not seeing me tonight. I might just go out with the camera for one picture. I’ll post this tomorrow. Then it’s a night of DotA. Yes. Still playing DotA though Steam says is not working on my OS anymore… it still… runs…

I have a photoshoot for a baby shower in March. I should request the deposit and confirm the shoot. Not my favorite, but hey, a gig is a gig.

February ends. Not much changed from yesterday. It’s my brother’s unbirthday today and tomorrow (he was born on the 29th). He is celebrating tomorrow and the day after.

I need to go to Ensenada. This weekend is uncertain. Except that I have to accompany my girlfriend to the optometrist in the morning. Her glasses broke. Like… forever ago. And they’ve been glued together with krazy glue for months now.

The Ensenada Beer Fest package sounds like it will be happening. A client from a tour told me he wants three out of the 18 tickets. It should be an easy sell. I can make some cash and have a ton of fun.

I love Ensenada (still… for now).

I went out yesterday to deliver a shirt and for some beers. I took a couple of pictures from Norte Brewery, but I’ve taken the same picture millions of times. I recorded a time lapse and the sky turned grey. Beers there are on the expensive side, so I left. When I left, the sky turned pink. I missed it.

Neither the timelapse or the pictures are much good.

They look like this:

But not as good.

Fun fact. That picture above is published in a book. And it’s not my book. It’s a beer book. The print looks VERY nice.

And some asshole in my video commented that I’m not a photographer…

This will be the picture instead of the basic ones I took yesterday. It’s way better.

And also, this is the place where I took the picture of my book cover.

You can buy my book! I got paid $29 by Amazon today from sales from back in December!
