AHH!!
It’s December already!
I’ve been wanting to write my blog since weeks ago, yet I didn’t.
I’ve been wanting to write to my tía in Houston since September, yet I haven’t.
I’m leaving to Houston soon! December is here! I miraculously made it all work!
I don’t like using the word miraculously or using that many exclamation points, but here I am!
Highly caffeinated vomiting words into my old ass 2010 iMac!
December! Let’s fucking go!
I was going broke during November. I’m even more broke now. But I made it work. I got published on the San Diego Magazine. For the first time in my life, I send an article to someone that wasn’t the Reader. The Reader will also publish something I wrote. And now I crave more. Writing for more magazines. For other publications. Do more writing. I can make more money.
And still maybe get a side hustle to help me even make more money.
IG post:
I have to leave in an hour to collect a payment for a side hustle. Photography. I can still do more photography as a side hustle. And my tours.
I photographed a boring lawyers event. I took over 2,000 pictures as if it was a wedding and it was just three speakers. The gig came to me last minute. I wasn’t sure if it was real or not. So I quoted them my premium price. No questions asked, they paid half. It was an easy, boring, yet important gig. Photographing some of the richest people in this city. No wonder they paid me in advance so easily. And now I have to go collect the other half.
I have a lot of side hustles. And still getting more.
Ensenada Beer Fest 2024!
With me! As your host!
That’s another side hustle. I spoke to the organizer and he wants me to be some sort of spokesperson for the festival to attract more American customers. I plan to do a VIP tour package and a basic tour.
Tours. More tours. I have a tour in January that should be pretty wild. Another bachelor party. I have to get ready for that ASAP.
So many side hustles. And I still want a regular job. Or donate plasma for more money. I need to buy my girlfriend a gift. I know exactly what I want to buy her. I just need the extra money to do so.
With the girlfriend. She asked to not write personal details, so I won’t. But it’s weird because I always leave everything in my blog. All my heart and soul. For you. The Reader. For me. For my sanity.
It’s going great.
Most of the time. We fought a couple of days ago. I feel like it was mostly my fault. I have to learn how to be a better boyfriend. I have to learn how to be a better person. I try. I do.
And to avoid writing much about it. I’ll just say this. She’ll hate me. But I don’t care. The sex is wonderful. It’s the best I’ve had in my life. And we both think that part is important in a relationship. The rest is also great. We are very different in many regards. In the classic way that she’s a bit country and I’m a bit rock n roll. Except more extreme that.
She really is a bit country (and very pop).
And I am really a bit rock n roll (but WAY more hardcore than that).
We’ve been together three months. Sometimes it feels like more. Sometimes it feels like less. I rather be with her than anyone else.
I like fighting with people on the internet because I know I can win.
I hate fighting with people on the internet because it’s a waste of my time.
Here is my article on the San Diego Magazine. Click here to read.
The Top 9 Must-Visit Breweries in Baja.
Some dude, on Facebook (the lowest form of social media), criticized my article. Then he suggested places he would put instead of two that I mentioned. The places he mentioned sucked (except one). There is a reason they pay me to write the articles and not him. I did so much beer traveling this year and this dude never even left his house. He thinks he can school me in what I should write?!
GET OUT OF HERE KID!
You can’t outdo my hate. But what a waste of time.
Everyone else loved the article. And I loved it as well. I wish they used my pictures, but there was an error in communication. First time submitting something to different editors! It worked.
Which magazine is next?! It’s my dream to read myself in an airplane. So perhaps a flying magazine.
I’m hungry and I have to go to the lawyer’s office to get the rest of my cash. I wish I had time to word vomit the rest of this blog, but I can’t. Where did November go?! Oh yeah, Mexicali’s Beer Fest…
First weekend of December gone. December is going to be a blink. And suddenly, 2024.
I made a TikTok out of the article I wrote for the SD Mag. I woke up to nearly 15k views. It’s at 18.6k at the moment of this writing and growing.
YouTube is paying me pennies. TikTok is offering me pennies. But I’m getting published and that pays for real.
I wrote about my time at the Mexicali Beer Fest and that one incredible weekend at the start of November.
I hitched a ride with Willy and his co-workers, landed in Copa Baja and drank beers with judges and other “beerfluencers.” Somehow end up in Sonora for a quick minute in San Luis Río Colorado. Then back to Mexicali for the award ceremony and the beer fest.
Imagine that paragraph extended into 1,400 words. That will be published soon (on the Reader). You can see all my adventure in picture format.

I made new Mexicali friends. Pictures: Marcella (Chicali Brewers), El Taste (beerfluencer and podcaster), Gerardo (Sarmiento Brewery), and Carlo (Dos Cheves Podcast and Tijuana Homebrew Club).
Chicali treated me great again. I can’t wait to go back. There is a posada this upcoming weekend, but I’m still recovering from being broke.
I have no gigs so far in December. I am booked for January and for March. 2024 will start with a crazy ass tour followed by a crazy ass beer fest.
But I’m getting ahead of myself.
December.
I decided I am going to translate my paparazzi book. My TikToks about my paparazzi time in Spanish do well. I could perhaps sell books via TikTok.
To read my paparazzi book, click here.
I often find myself with nothing to do. Then fucking write another book. Or… translate the one you already have. With four books under my belt, that’s a constant flow of like $100 buck or less every month! HOORAY!
…
There is much to do in 2024. December is getting ready for all of that.
I have stories to pitch. I have stories to write.
Tijuana Adventure merch shop.
Translate the other book. Write another book. Make a picture coffee table book.
Benito is making coffee table book with his photographs of Oaxaca. I could easily do the same with one of Tijuana, and another with my paparazzi prints, and yet another with pictures of food. I can make more books. That’s the point.
I wrote myself a schedule to accomplish each week. Today is music Mondays. Every Monday I must play at least an hour of music. Record music. Write new music. Practice classical guitar for hours and learn new pieces. Or re-learn old ones.
Tuesdays is for photos. Even if I don’t have anything to take a picture of, I’m going to go outside and take a fucking picture. Go through my archive. Select my best work. Work on photo.
Wednesday is for writing. I don’t have to write for work. Write for myself. Write another book or start the photo book. Write pitches. Write emails. Write.
Thursday is for beer. That’s easy. New beer video. Trying a new beer. Start beer equipment. Write more about beer. Beer. Beer is every day. But Thursday is beer day.
Friday is for tours. To get ready for a tour on Saturday. To work on getting more tours.
Saturdays are usually busy with work of some nature, either tours or photoshoots. If not, then I can rest.
Sundays are to also to rest and to watch NFL (unless there is some work to do). I was so close to winning my NFL parlay this weekend.
There is much to do. Better my apartment. The girlfriend wants to buy new curtains and other shit around the house that I don’t notice. There is a candle that crackles and that excites her.
But for me, to play a lot of F-Zero 99 (fuck, I can’t stop and I should).
2024. Here we go. And I’m going with a positive attitude. There is much work to do. A lot of money to be made without getting a real job. Without having to donate plasma (or perhaps I shall still do it for some Xmas presents money). There is so much work to fucking do.
